OSD offers The Class. Registration now open!

As many of our readers know, OSD hosts a weekly Internet-based sneaker talk show that covers sneaker news all the while allowing listeners and callers to interact with other sneakerheads in the live chat room as the live show is taking place. As you may also know, it's pretty hectic and quite entertaining!

Now they're taking it to the next level, jumping off the computer and into the classroom! It's called The Class: Sneakers, their impact on lifestyles, culture and people of the 21st century.

From what I'm hearing, it's gonna blow your mind. It will be 8 weeks long, starting June 5th and running on Saturdays from 5:30-7pm. It will be offered in an as-yet-unnamed location in Times Square. Cost $300, covers all materials. To apply or learn more, click on osdlive.com.

Sister 2 Sister (2) Pics and Recap...

Our second Sister 2 Sister all-female sneaker design seminar just wrapped on Wednesday with an exclusive insiders' look at the Converse Headquarters. Over 20 female Converse staff showed us their roles in taking kicks from market research to material design, product development and onto our feet! Thanks Converse...

Over the weekend we had 20+ amazing participants and 9 mentor teachers working away at improving our skills drawing and designing sneakers...

Draw, draw, draw! Imani was one of 10 middle schoolers showing it's never too young to start becoming a sneaker designer!

This design team was challenged to come up with a new brand; here they're doing some market research and looking for inspiration...

As always, the weekend includes loads of one-on-one mentoring. Here Sabrina (left), from MassArt, gets tips from Layla Hassoun from Sperry Topsider.

Kathleen O'Donnell from RISD shows off her final design.

Many thanks to our fantastic mentor teachers, hard-working participants, and generous sponsors: Abekam, Karmaloop, No. 2 Foundation and Pensole!

Moment of silence...

One of my male sneaker fiend friends and I were having a really good conversation about kicks we messed up or just cannot find. So I would like to give a moment of silence for the 5 pair of kicks that i had and no longer have. Ironically they are all Jordans.

Jordan II, left these home when i went off to college. Came home and they were gone!

Jordan IV used them as work shoes, smh. The odor killed these.

Jordan VIII someone stole these out of my locker at Six Flags one summer.

Jordan XII my brother decided to use these to cut the grass while i was at school.

Jordan X, unknown

What about you? What kicks do you give a moment of silence to?

“OSD jumps off the computer and into the classroom!”

Brooklyn, NY. April 20, 2011. OSD introduces “The Class: Sneakers, their impact on lifestyles,
culture and people in the 21st Century”. The athletic footwear industry has yet again reached new heights today as Dee Wells and Sean “PaperChasr” Williams announce the creation of “The Class: Sneakers, their impact on lifestyles, culture and people in the 21st Century”.

It has been over three and a half years since the creation of the wildly popular, live podcast OSD Obsessive Sneaker Disorder, which allows sneaker aficionados to learn about and discuss popular sneaker releases, along with there impact sports culture and fashion.

Dee and Sean, along with a staff of 6, have been steadily plotting a way to take the OSD brand to the next level as the show and the company approaches its 4th year anniversary. They have found their answer: A course designed for the “seasoned” sneakerhead as well as someone new to the lifestyle and culture, OSD “The Class” is an 8-week, 1.5 hour educational seminar and career planning course.

The curriculum is based on topics and issues discussed on the popular, live OSD podcast, along with current events, sneaker releases and how to get your foot in the door at many of the footwear companies.

OSD “The Class” will feature a number of guests from various positions within the footwear industry that participants can learn from and ask questions of.

Classes will be held at a yet to be named, but very famous location in Times Square in New York City.Once registered, participants will be contacted with the time and location for the course.

Registration begins on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, and the cost of the 8- week course is $300, which will include printed materials, guest speakers, retailer discounts, and one lucky student will win a pair of Filling Pieces footwear. To register for the course, please visit www.osdlive.com and click on the “Register NOW” button. For additional information about the course and questions, please send emails to info@osdlive.com.

WMNS Court Force Hi - MYTH

Well, well, well! I guess someone over at Nike heard me ranting about no Court Forces being released lately! This pair is available now at SNEAKERS N STUFF but I think I will pass on these. I'm not digging the colorway of Myth, Metallic Platinum-Spark, & Chlorine Blue..a bit too youthful for me, but I am glad to see a new pair of Court Forces in 2011 which hopefully means more will be released!

PUMA Presents: GAME TIME - UNDFTD "Clyde" Lanuch

It was a night of sneakers, Hip Hop, and FUN! PUMA knows how to make their sneaker lovers happy! A 3 hour open bar also helped! The event was brought to us by DIGIWAXX & hosted by Power 105.1's Angela Yee in Midtown at GOOD UNITS. When I arrived they tried to say it was shut down due to overcapacity, but yall already know how I move so I got in after 20 minutes! As soon as you came in there were Clydes on display in glass cases along with the seamless, premium leather white & black UNDFTD pairs. The Clyde is historic from Walt Frazier going hard in the paint with them on, and there was also an autographed pair from the man himself!

Hip Hop was in full effect with DJ's Kid Capri, Scratch, Kenny Dope, and a few others spinning classics, while rappers like Parrish of EPMD, Mysonne, Red Cafe, Mos Def, Beatnuts, Biz Markie, & radio personality Steph Lover. We were also able to take a pic with a huge Clyde sneaker which was a highlight of the night! Overall I had such a great time and look forward to the next PUMA event! Check out more pics HERE
